Overview of property taxes
The basic overview is that the government appraises your property, sets a value, charges you a percentage of that value (a.k.a. "levy"), collects it and spends it. Some politicians raise the percentage collected.
Blue Earth County Levy
Blue Earth County levies a percentage to collect money for the county
Mankato City Levy
The City of Mankato levies a percentage to collect money for the city.
Mankato Area Public Schools
The Mankato Area Public School Board also levies a percentage.
